Miyo’s Restaurant

A few weeks ago, Mr. LH and I had lunch at Miyo’s. Miyo’s is one of those restaurants I miss when I’m away from home. We take visiting guests to Miyo’s, we celebrate at Miyo’s. It was really nice to walk in and get a table without a reservation that Saturday afternoon (but I recommend making reservations!) It’s a great place for Japanese food and we’ve never been let down, the food is always delish. They seem to be known for their sesame chicken, but I love their donburi bowls, udon, chicken katsu, salad and spicy squid. They also have bentos for takeout, and you can even get a bento with sashimi.

I remember when Miyo’s was at Waiakea Villas. And everyone remembers that. But I remember when Miyo’s was at Orchid Manor. Where they served their tsukemono on handmade plates (my favorite ones were pressed using geranium leaves).

Here’s what we had:

Tsukemono (pickled veggies), they serve up a little more than this. (I ate some).

Miso soup

Chicken katsu with salad. Love Miyo’s salads.

Tonkatsu (pork) and vegetable curry

Miyos 001

My new favorite, spicy squid with eggplant. And salad. Don’t let the portion fool you, I ate some. Again.

Miyos 002

Kiddo fave, plain udon
